| 1. Physical Properties:

| The density of high
Zircon is usually about 4.70 g/cm3. Its refractive index
are usually n w 1.96, n e 2.01 and it has a hardness of
75. Medium to low Zircons have a density of between 3.95
and 4.55 g/cm3, refractive index between n w 1.880, n
w 1.890, n w 1.796 and a hardness of about 6-6.5. |

| 2. Occurrence: |
| Zircon are found in
Norway, Sweden, the Soviet Union (Urals), Australia, Brazil
and the United States but the most famous sources of gem
quality zircon are Sri Lanka, Combodia, Vietnam and Thailand.

| 3. Appearance: |
| Looks like diamond and
shines more than it. But unlike diamond it looses its
shine in a short span of time and after that it looks
dull and pale. Widely used in astrology as a substitute
of diamond. It is said to enhance beauty and attractiveness
of a person. It makes an excellent ring stone and is thus
widely used in jewellery also. |

| It gives added popularity
in social circles and appreciation by members of the opposite
sex. It improves prestige and protects him from jealousies
and rivalries and plots hatched by one's enemies. |
