1. What is the History of Yantras?
The Bhramana section of Atharva Veda contains verses which describe the mystic
power of Yantras. (Bhramanas are one of four primary sections of each Veda;
concerned mainly with details of Yagya and mysticism) Further details are
found in the post Upnishid era texts known as Brahiminical Texts. These texts
contain details of ways of designing and preparing Yantras and their use. Covered
in secrecy and available only within few families these texts have become available
to general public only in the 20th century.
2. What are Yanrtas ?.
Yantra a Sanskrit word means ‘ an apparatus’ it is a mystic
diagram composed of geometric and alphabetic figures--usually etched on small
plates of gold, silver or copper. These are also made in three dimensions in
stone or metal. The purpose of a Yantra is to focus spiritual and
mental energies, to improve health, wealth, childbearing or the invoking of
one God or another. It is usually installed near or under the temple Deity.
The temple Yantra is a magnificent three-dimensional edifice of light and
sound in which the devas work. On the astral plane, it is much larger than the
temple itself. It is made is such a way that the male and female energy patterns
of he universe interact and produce a high level spiritual energy. It is one
of the deepest secret of ancient Hindus and many parts of the texts dealing
with these diagrams of energy are lost for mankind .
Yantra has also been defined as a visual mantra i.e., it is able
to create the vibrations and other mystic effects of a Mantra by sight.
3. The mystic power of yantras ?
The mystic power of Yantras has
been narrated in many sacred books. Lord Shiva explains to his consort Parvati
,in Mahashiva Puran, that Yantra is as essential to the worship of Gods as a
body is essential for a living being and as oil is essential to the oil lamps.
A Yantra is helpful in every field of your life, to attain success in your
profession, to acquire wealth, to win in court cases, to ward off diseases and
to progress in meditation. By having a Yantra and keeping it in a sacred place
in your house, worshipping it everyday one can fulfil ones desires and attain
ones goals.
4. How Yantras are prepared & used
Yantras are prepared under definite guidelines
and with specific rituals, on an appropriate day, time & place, & energized
thru’ a ‘Sidh mantra’ a process which converts them from mere geometric diagrams
to a proper vehicle of invisible forces of energy, are invoked to begin working
for the benefit of the individual. The process is known as Pran Pritishta, it
is done by invoking the specific God or planet and then putting its benefic
powers into that Yantra.To be able to do this one is supposed to go into deep
meditation --- be one with the forces of nature and then put the required power
into the Yantra. Once these Yantras are abhimanrtit and empowered they give
the desired results .
Yantras
may be drawn or etched/carved on bronze, lead, copper, silver, gold, steel or
'Bhoj Patra', i.e., "Holy bark" of a silver birch tree. Yantras can
either be worn on the body in locket form, or kept in the place of worship and
used for the purpose of worshipping.
5. How to get real benefit from Yantras
After
being prepared, Yantras need to be duly purified, sanctified and energized with
Vedic rituals. The knowledge, skill & sincerity of purpose of the 'Sadhaka'
or expert who energizes the Yantra through the "Avahan", enhances
the advantages & benefits that the user can get from it.
6. How the Yantras shoul
be installed or worn?
The
Yantra needs to be installed or worn for the first time,
on a prescribed day & time in accordance with Vedik astrological Muhurthas,
after recitation of specified Mantras and
following prescribed religious procedure.
7. How
do these Yantras effect ?
One
should worship the Yantra regularly, as instructed, in order to maintain it's
sanctity and power, multiply it's benefic effect, and continue to reap the desired
benefit for the rest of one's life.
8)Rituals and controls
required for using Yantras ?
The rituals of worship for
Yantras to be worn are different from those to be worshipped. For example, Yantras
that are places in a temple or on an altar never have to go out onto the street,
to bathrooms, where one is sleeping etc. So rules that apply to Yantras installed
on an altar or temple are more strict than those for daily wearing.
9. How should these Yantras be worshipped to give best results?
Place
the Yantra on a Yellow Cloth facing North .
Pray regularly with Kukum , unbroken rice,
yellow flowers, fruits and sweet offerings and Jot (Ghee ldiya).
Near Yantra always keep yellow rice and
yellow mustard.
10) What if I am unable to worship the
Yantra for few days ?
If you are out of the city and unable
to see the Yantra than visulise the Yantra and then follow the same
procure of worshipping it as though you are just in front of Yantra
,this procedure known as distance worshipping gives nearly the same
results as doing puja in front of it.

How are these Yantras abhimantrit ?

How to increase the efficacy of these Yantras ?
On every full moon day take bath early
morning and wear only white unstiched cloth put chandan tilak on your
forehead than light a packet of incense sticks , dhoop and a jot (diya)
in front of the Yantra also keep a bowl of Gangajal in front of the
Yantra than sit in front of it and pray to all mighty to give
additional strength to the Yantra. Sprinkle the Gangajal on all members
of the family and throughout the house to get best results. After this ,
throughout the day, you should consume only fruits and milk and stay
away from gratification of senses.
13. Can I eat non Vegetarian food and consume
alcohol with a Yantra affixed in my house ?
Yantra is just like a diety placed
in your house it has to be kept in a pious environment and you should
not consume tamsic products like non vegetarian food and alcohol before
the worship but after that you can do anything except on full Moon
day when you have to abstain from all gratification of senses.
14. Can I use more than one Yantra?
Yes, you can use more than one Yantra
and even all Yantras together.
15)what if the yantra breaks or is
dicoloured?
In case the Yantra breaks or is discoloured
then it is considered to be khandit so it should be wraped in a
yellow cotton cloth and with full respect it should be immersed in flowing
water and in its place a new Yantra should be affixed.
16. How
much time do these Yantras take to start showing results?
Yantras take between 60 to 90 days to
start showing results . One must remember that the results given by Yantras
are within the parameters of ones fate. |
